A leading international legal practice with a truly global presence is looking for an experienced proposals professional to advance the firm's approach to competitive pitching. Whilst this is not a 'start-up' role, the firm is keen to take the opportunity of hiring a Senior Proposals Manager to review and rethink the way they pitch.
The objective of this role is to improve the firm's approach to pitching and as a result to increase the proposal success rate. The Senior Proposals Manager will take responsibility for strategic and high-value proposals. This will involve driving the process, shaping the team, facilitating meetings, agreeing strategy and messaging, drafting and reviewing content from a sales perspective and coaching pitch teams. You will conduct win/loss reviews for major proposals, identifying themes from reviews conducted across the firm and taking action appropriately and, acting as an internal consultant, support partners and members of the BD team in their pitch activity by reviewing text and helping to shape messages. You will also work with the Finance team to provide guidance to help pitch teams make effective pricing decisions; build relationships with procurement professionals and other external experts and bodies to keep on top of industry best practice; link with training and development teams to ensure that current best practice in winning business and pitching is shared through internal training programmes; and work closely with the Marketing Technology team to ensure the successful use of existing or new technology to streamline the proposals process.
The Senior Proposals Manager will have extensive experience in proposals management and coaching including experience of leading and motivating proposal teams and virtual teams and will possess a track record in setting and delivering against a strategy. The ideal candidate will also possess strong communication, coaching and influencing skills and the experience and confidence to liaise regularly with senior stakeholders. Previous experience of working in professional services or a partnership environment is highly desirable.
