JOB PURPOSE As the Senior Project Manager, Architecture - EMEIA at Burberry, you will lead the delivery of store construction and fit-out within Europe, the Middle East & India across our store portfolio, incorporating flagship, mainline, airport, concessions and wholesale sites. You’ll manage a team of talented Project Managers, and as a true subject matter expert in all things luxury construction, ensure the Burberry design vision is adhered to and elevated. This Senior Project Manager, Architecture - EMEIA role is offered on a full time, permanent basis. You will be required to work in our London office (Horseferry Road) minimum 3 days per week, and regular travel across the EMEIA region will be required.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading and managing complex store construction projects in Europe, including flagships, mainline, airport, concessions and wholesale stores
- Ownership of each project phase, from coordination of design, through construction to opening and site handover
- Establishing high performing governance and ways of working that deliver projects on time, to cost and an exceptional standard
- Developing and managing bespoke project plans, ensuring quality communications and updates are provided to key stakeholder
- Building and managing project budgets alongside the Director of Construction and internal finance teams
- Building and coordination of complex cross-functional teams (both internal and external) of to ensure delivery of projects against key milestones
- Partnering with stakeholders to pre-empt and solve challenges through negotiation, open communication and influencing
- Conducting site visits and meetings, reviewing and inspection of works
- Sourcing, evaluating and negotiation with specialist external consultants, contractors and suppliers
- Coaching, leading and developing a high-performing team
- Experienced in retail luxury construction experience in a senior role, ideally client/brand side
- Proven experience in project delivery (i.e. project leadership, responsibility and accountability) and managing multiple bespoke projects at the same time
- Ability to evaluate and discuss specific technical matters across engineering specialists, structural, architectural, MEP
- Understanding of design drawings, including knowledge and experience of coordinating architecture and engineering disciplines
- Strong commercial acumen with financial and analytical capability. Understanding and evaluation of BoQ, tenders, bids and change orders while maintaining a strong budget focus
- Proficient in GANTT charts, able to evaluate updates, changes to timings and schedule of each project
- Strong stakeholder management skills across all levels of seniority, both internal and external,alongside expert presentation skills
- Fluent in English (written & spoken); additional languages a plus (European/Arabic ideal)
