Senior Programme Support Officer

An outstanding 12 month opportunity for a well organised, ambitious individual to make their mark at npower based from our large city centre location in Solihull with great transport links.

Working closely with a number of key stakeholders, you will be providing support to a high profile programme of work using agile methodology. You will need to be comfortable communicating with all levels of management including Directors and have the ability to summarise information from large amounts of data and sources using your previous Excel and PowerPoint experience.  You will need to be proactive and able to turn your hand to a wide range of varied tasks to help ensure a successful delivery.

Role Description
As a Senior Programme Support Officer, you’ll maintain a governance framework that ensures the successful delivery of a large programme using agile methodology. You’ll have responsibility for producing MI from each of the scrum teams (via Jira) using this MI to support the Programme Management Team in successfully delivering the programme. You will play a key role in taking the formal minutes and preparing the MI for the Executive level Steering Committee. You’ll be confident and able to manage and present the financial position of the programme, ensuring all costs are accounted for and managing the underlying processes that enable the programme to deliver. Of course with all programmes comes risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies so you’ll actively manage these across the programme making sure they are mitigated and managed at the appropriate level. You will also provide general support to the Programme Manager and programme as a whole, delivering quickly and effectively across a wide range of activities.
There’s never a dull day in our Programme Support Office, as I’m sure you can imagine, but the level of support we provide is consistent and varied; from booking workshops, cross-checking plans to making sure they all fit together through to supporting programme activities triggering decision making, our service is always best in class.

Required skills and experience
To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • Experience of working within a Programme Office
  • Experience of working with a large strategic programme
  • To be proactive and have a problem-solving mindset
  • To be able to take lead and ownership
  • To be confident in communicating across all levels 
  • Be able to create presentation packs and present to colleagues/stakeholders
  • Experience using Microsoft Suites
  • To have organisation and prioritisation skills to support multiple projects
  • To be able to influence change and drive decisions that need to be made to ensure project timelines are met
  • Basic understanding of the commercial aspects of a project and be able to report on them

Salary and package details
£35,000-£40,000 depending on experience with great additional benefits including up to 15% bonus, 25 days holiday, generous company pension scheme and the opportunity to opt-in for more flexible benefits.
