Senior Productivity Lead
Salary: Circa £60k plus benefits
As the Senior Productivity Lead, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and leading initiatives to deliver significant, sustainable and measurable improvements in productivity and efficiency. You will work with management across the business to improve the understanding and adoption of continuous improvement, applying best practice in line with strategic initiatives and objectives. This will include the structured use of the Lean and Six Sigma tools alongside accepted best practice tools and strategies within a continuous improvement context. You will ensure that we balance the need to achieve long term positive change with the delivery of tangible shorter-term benefits.
Main objectives / accountabilities
Establish a coherent programme of work to improve productivity and efficiency in key areas of the business, both front line services and mid / back office.
Build capacity and capability across the business to deliver specific change initiatives and continuous improvement, through the provision and sharing of expert CI knowledge and technical skills.
Create efficient and effective monitoring arrangements that will allow the business to monitor and demonstrate the benefits being achieved
Lead the delivery of operational reviews, in partnership with managers, process owners and field based teams, to identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure that the reviews result in actions that will deliver demonstrable, sustainable change.
Provide expert advice and recommendations to the senior management team regarding the methods and approaches that are most suitable for the business and specific areas of investigation. Contribute to the development of the business’s 5 year strategy and decisions on prioritisation of initiatives.
Build a robust case for further investment in continuous improvement capacity and capability.
Duties will also include communicating and effectively working with the majority of internal functions including Senior Management Teams, operational managers, shifts teams and technical advisory departments, to name a few.
Degree qualification or equivalent.
Demonstrable lean / continuous improvement / Six sigma (Black belt) experience in a range of settings and the managerial / leadership expertise to successfully deliver change
The ability to work across multiple disciplines including finance, operations, HR, IT and business development.
Proven practical understanding of lean principles
Proven coaching, development and training experience within a continuous improvement environment
Proven success working with customer service or customer focused teams' operational changes
Ability to communicate at all levels is essential due to the nature of the position
