The key purpose of this exciting role is to take ownership of the delivery of a range of projects and programmes across their full lifecycle and to ensure exceptional results are delivered for the long-term. With significant scope for home-working, the initial focus of this role will be to work with clients across the Essex region. In order to succeed in this challenging role, the successful candidate will need the technical expertise and relationship building skills required to deliver value from procurement interventions. This role will involve agreeing customer work plan priorities, ascertaining routes to market for each project, delivering the procurement activities and taking a lead role in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. A high level of commercial acumen is essential to ensure value for money and that service improvements are measured.
A background in public sector procurement is essential with strong working knowledge of OJEU a pre-requisite. You will possess a demonstrable working knowledge of category management and strategic sourcing, the proven ability to develop business cases and be able to offer expertise across tendering, negotiation and contracting. Outstanding stakeholder management and relationship building skills are essential coupled with high levels of credibility and drive.
