Senior Privacy Manager

Kind Consultancy is working with a multinational banking organisation who are seeking a Senior Privacy Manager to join the Data Privacy team, in their Manchester offices.

As a Senior Privacy Manager, you will focus on developing and maintaining the organisation's privacy governance and operating model, with key responsibilities including:

  • Developing and maintaining privacy policies and standards
  • Providing policy oversight for the organisation's businesses and ensuring all businesses adhere to the organisation's PRivacy Operating Model in accordance with strategy and governance frameworks for the Privacy function
  • Advising on data transfer requirements, providing input into the governance of data transfers and developing governance for privacy relating to new product approval, technology and offshoring processes
  • Assisting the organisation with developing specific Privacy standards and procedures for their businesses
  • Advising subsidiary businesses on the organisation's Privacy policies, standards and procedures and installing measures to ensure consistent, high-quality advice and guidance
  • Ensuring any Privacy incidents, breaches and risk events are properly reported, with measures in place to ensure incidents are appropriately handled and escalated

Our ideal candidate for the Senior Privacy Manager opportunity:

  • Has presence, impact and gravitas, able to command respect from colleagues and regulators
  • Is proactive and energetic with a can-do approach and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Has extensive knowledge of UK, US and European privacy laws and regulations
  • Has substantial experience in a privacy functioning providing advice, managing breaches and undertaking governance and oversight activities including Privacy Impact Assessments
  • Holds a Professional Privacy Certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (eg CIPP IT/EG/G) or an equivalent eg ISEB
  • Has a good understanding of privacy requirements for information technology and ePrivacy, including privacy issues arising in relation to the use of enterprise-wide technology
  • Has experience of advising on privacy requirements for information technology and online and digital privacy matters, establishing suitable governance frameworks and controls in those mediums
  • Holding an information technology qualification would be desirable
