Youth Offending Team Senior Social Worker Newport

A YOS Practitioner / Social Worker is required on a full timed basis to join a South Wales Youth Offending Service. An initial 12 week contract covering a period of sickness based in Newport. There is potential for this contract to extend beyond this time. Pay rate for this position will be between £21.76 as a PAYE candidate, and £32 as a Ltd worker. This is dependent on whether you are a social worker or senior practitioner level.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

-Some element of lone working, candidate will need to understand risk assessment and management and operate within the YOS risk policy

-managing cases both in the community and in custody

-pre sentence report writing

-case management

-experience of ASSET management is essential for this post

In order to apply for this role:

- Knowledge of current Youth Justice legislation such as CJ&I Act 2008 and LASPO Act 2012

-Familiar with operating under the Scaled Approach

-Social Work qualification

-Enhanced DBS

-Registration with CCW
