Senior Mental Health Practitioner - Mental Health in Schools Team

East Lancashire

Recently rated Outstanding by the CQC, ELCAS are excited to be recruiting two lead practitioners for the new Mental Health in Schools Support Teams which will commence in September 2020. The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting trailblazer project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community.

There is a specific focus on developing early access to help and improve the general culture of emotional support within primary schools in Burnley & Pendle, and Secondary Schools in Rossendale, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley. Working alongside community partners the Mental Health in Schools Teams will be integrated with the community ELCAS teams and based in educational settings.

The lead practitioner role for MHST will be to support the delivery of all interventions within the MHST project, ensuring that a wide range of evidence based interventions are used to support young people’s mental health and to ensure early help and access to specialist services is seamless and transparent. You will provide leadership and will be involved in the development of the MHST alongside the team manager and other senior colleagues in the service and within East Lancashire.

We seek to appoint 2 enthusiastic and dynamic senior practitioners who are passionate about CAMHS, with a demonstrable track record of CAMHS clinical and leadership experience. You will have experience of supervising clinicians and be able to evidence clinical leadership skills and abilities. You will be a CAMHS professional registered with a professional body such as the NMC or HCPC.

The post holders should ideally hold Postgraduate Certificate in Children & Young People's IAPT Supervision but training may be available for the right candidates. The training will commence in September 2020.
