'The recent Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns has resulted in higher number of safeguarding concerns being raised within Adult Social Care and have seen significant increases linked to mental health. To ensure the Local Authority meets its statutory duties the current Safeguarding Teams have been focussing on ensuring the initial concerns are triaged and enquiries commenced, plans put in place, but have not had the resource to focus on completing the section 42 enquiries. This has resulted in backlogs in open concerns and current staffing carrying significant caseloads.

To address the backlogs and fully fulfil statutory obligations Kent County Council Adult Social Care would like to create a team to oversee all new safeguarding concerns. The team will triage all concerns and apply section 42 criteria and then carrying out the designated safeguarding officer role. This will release current staffing to manage the ongoing backlog of open section 42 enquiries and focus on mental health inpatient concerns.'

The role would be remote working and pay up to £36 per hour.

The office base is in Maidstone - you are welcome to work from the office to if you would like to.
