BAND 8A - HOURS: 22.5 MINIMUM - 37.5 MAXIMUM (VARIOUS POSTS AVAILABLE)

NHS Fife has an exciting opportunity for a experienced pharmacists with a background in hospital, primary care or community pharmacy to be part of an expanding multidisciplinary team to deliver a clinical, patient facing role within GP practices across Fife.

With the current national development of the GP clinical pharmacist role, these posts will support GP Practices to undertake a range of roles, including medicines reconciliation, discharge letters, acute and repeat prescription requests, undertaking polypharmacy reviews in care homes, patients’ own homes or in a homely setting.

This post would suit pharmacists with experience of hospital, primary care or community pharmacy with considerable clinical experience and who have supervised or trained other staff.

You will have a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be on the practising register of the General Pharmaceutical Council.

It is essential that you have either: a relevant post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy/ prescribing sciences or be an independent prescriber. You will be expected to have completed both the diploma and independent prescribing qualification within an agreed timescale, as well undertaking clinical assessment skills and consultations skills training.

You should have a sound clinical knowledge, good IT skills and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should ideally have previous experience of working within primary care.

You should have the ability to travel to different locations across Fife, although the current vacancy is in North East Fife and Central Fife.
