This Project Management Consultancy was established to provide development management, project management and employer's agent services for developers and owner/occupiers. The company has developed extensive experience in the management of a wide range of project types across the healthcare, commercial and leisure sectors. Typically the company takes on a range of project types, including new builds, extensions and refurbishment projects ranging in value up to £100 million.

As a result of expansion then company are now looking to recruit a Principle Quantity Surveyor/ Associate, to work Homebased AND/OR in their office based North West London.

This is a unique opportunity to join as an Associate and would consider a Senior PQS to join. Homeworking.

The Company

The Client is a small/medium firm of construction consultants offering quantity surveying and project management services.

The Candidate

You will be an ASSOCIATE QUANTITY SURVEYOR who has a Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying and you will be MRICS qualified with experience of working for a private practice quantity surveyors or multi disciplinary firm of consultants.

The provision of technical support, procurement and contract management solution to a range of clients

The provision of Procurement & cost management services to a portfolio of clients on both new build and regeneration schemes

The delivery of an effective quantity surveying and cost management service for a broad range of clients on a variety of schemes-including new build.

Management of your own complex cost management workload to a high standard with minimal support.

Proactive cost management support to all departments to maximise income in relation to property issues.

Instigation and management of financial and performance audits, and preparation of complex reports and recommendations.

The day to day mentoring and management of a team of Quantity Surveyors and Cost Managers Contribute to the development of policy, practice, procedures and service planning for the Quantity Surveying Services.

Work closely with the Directors to provide technical advice, and cost management strategies across a range of clients

Management of contract monitoring and post inspections to ensure the provision of high quality, efficient services to clients.

Monitoring and ensuring that financial and performance targets set for the Cost Management and Quantity Surveying division are achieved

Provide regular, timely reports to the board in respect of service performance indicators, targets and budgets.

Prepare specifications, tendering and evaluation for contracts and Measured Term Contracts where appropriate (including the project management team).

To be successful the candidate must have/be all of the following:

RICS or equivalent qualification and/or relevant work experience.

Experience working as a PQS within a Project Management/Cost Consultancy

Experience of working on major Construction/Regeneration projects within the Education, Mixed Use, Commercial and Healthcare sectors ( some or all)

Substantial experience in undertaking quantity surveying related activity including financial management, procurement and administration of contracts

Experience in project budgetary and financial control

Experience of collaborative working and partnering

Ability to develop and maintain effective use of capital and revenue budgets, and provide complex cost analysis.

Ability to provide a high quality procurement and contract monitoring service to all contracts.

Ability to contribute effectively to the general management of the Project & Cost Management teams

Demonstrable skills to undertake contract administration duties and manage financially complex contracts

A detailed knowledge of the issues of performance management of contractors

A detailed knowledge of procurement, contract terms and conditions
