Senior Personal Tax Manager
Salary: Up to c. £90K - dependant on qualifications and experience
We are seeking an experienced Senior Personal Tax Manager to join the successful Tax Groups based at this prestigious firm’s Central London office.
The work will be varied and will comprise non-UK domiciled individuals, HNW’s, sole traders, legal & other partnerships, Directors of owner-managed businesses and trusts.
Currently the Tax Team based at the London office consists of a corporate, VAT, Personal Tax and Tax Advisory. This is a large and successful Tax Group with the majority of employees made up of tax specialists.
The successful candidate will have direct responsibility for a number of staff in one of the Personal Tax Teams. This will involve having responsibility for planning workloads for the Department, whilst making sure sufficient resources are available in order to meet the varying demands of all partners and clients.
As a Senior Manager the successful applicant will also undertake the following: -
recruitment, appraisals, setting objectives, development & training, employee relations in addition to dealing with any work-related queries the Department may have.
The successful candidate will also take overall responsibility for direct tax advisory and compliance matters for a substantial private client portfolio.
The Senior Manager will also be tasked with overseeing the direct tax compliance for the group’s portfolio.
The Main Duties and Responsibilities are as follows: -
- Identifying new business opportunities
- Ensuring technical accuracy of the team’s work through review
- Adhering to statutory and other deadlines e.g. self-assessment & ATED
- Meeting targets for billing
- Monitoring the Group’s time and recovery and reporting to the Partners
- Liaising with clients regarding day-to-day compliance and planning issues.
The individual will also be expected to provide technical support to other departments both in London and elsewhere whenever required.
You will ideally possess the following personal attributes and qualifications: -
A minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience at Managerial level
CTA and/or ACA fully qualified
The ability to deal with all aspects of income and capital taxes
The ability to communicate with clients and partners
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to manage, develop and motivate staff in addition to being a great team player yourself.
The ability to demonstrate resilience is essential.
