You take pride in your work - and we take pride in our people.

If you ask our people what they like about working at William Hill, you'll get all sorts of weird and wonderful answers. But if we're honest, one of the best things about any job is getting paid the right money on the right day of the month. So for most of us, it's a big deal if our pay doesn't look right.

About us

With over 16,000 people worldwide, we make a huge investment in everyone, offering great career development opportunities. Our people are at the heart of everything we do and we offer a fast-paced environment where we have fun, celebrate success and give you all the tools you'll need to be experts within a leading FTSE 250 company. It's not just our colleagues we look after - we've got a responsibility to our customers too and we work hard on our ambition that nobody is harmed by gambling. To keep things running smoothly, we rely on a team of dedicated and diligent Payroll experts. We've set up a brand new team in our Leeds City Centre office, so this is a great time for an ambitious payroll professional to make a move into our new HR Shared Service Centre. We're launching a new HR / Payroll system called SAP SuccessFactors April 2019, and you'll be involved in the final stages of the implementation project ready for go-live at the beginning of the 2019/20 tax year.

Your Role in the Team

Our payroll is complex and can be challenging. You'll do an important job - and you can make a real difference. As a Technical Payroll Assistant you'll look after intricate and detailed payroll including statutory payments, payroll reconciliation, settlement agreements, P11d, PSA, and pensions including auto-enrolment. You'll look after all aspects of pay including manual calculations, statutory payments, sickness, maternity, leavers, overpayments and everything else that you'd expect a large and diverse workforce to need. You'll be an expert who's on hand to deal with queries raised through the system channels and from colleagues direct. Taking ownership is important, and treating your colleagues with empathy and care is a must.

Skills Needed

We'd like you to bring us experience of working in a very fast paced, high volume payroll team. You'll already be familiar with statutory payments and deductions, tax codes and court orders and ideally working with modern systems and time and attendance systems. If you've got experience using SAP or any other Cloud based Payroll system is essential. We need you to be a confident payroll professional who can exercise good judgement and decision making.

You'll find a friendly, supportive culture and colleagues who'll help you learn about our business. At times, the pace of work can be pretty frenetic, so your ability to focus and produce great work under pressure will help you out. We all work hard but like to have fun, and we'd love you to be involved. We're all in this together, and we're looking forward to welcoming you into the team.

William Hill in Leeds.

Right in the middle of the creative heart of the UK sit both of our Leeds offices. Leeds itself is a buzzy, busy place to work and live. A hub for tech, digital and gaming companies - there's also five universities right on our doorstep. And away from work, we're in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales and of course have got a competitive sports scene with Leeds United and Yorkshire Cricket and Rugby just up the road in Headingly.
