Senior Occupational Therapist

You will be based in the Douglas Grant Rehabilitation Centre, working with people transferred from acute sites to Ward 1, Woodland View, which is a 30 bedded ward for adults with frailty and complex needs. You will work as part of a multi- disciplinary team and will demonstrate leadership skills in support of continuous service improvement.
You will undertake autonomous assessment and will work in partnership with individuals and others to set person centred goals that have meaning and purpose. Interventions will occur in ward setting, home visits depending on needs and goals identified. Experience of clinical reasoning for older people and adults with complex needs, assessment and treatment planning and interventions including equipment provision and some adaptations is essential.
The occupational therapy team offers training to occupational therapy students and to staff and students from other disciplines. Experience in student mentoring is desirable as is supervision of junior staff. Proven leadership skills and experience of service improvement would be considered a valuable asset. Clinical and line management supervision will be provided and we are keen to support applicants to learn and develop skills within the role.
A degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration and working knowledge of IT applications are essential requirements .
Car owner/driver is essential .
This is a fixed term/secondment opportunity until 30 June 2020.
