We're looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist to work as a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team within the low secure hospitals and/or locked intensive rehabilitation units. You will be working with service users who have a severe and enduring mental health problem, who may also have challenging behaviour or a forensic history.
You will carry out specialist OT assessments with each service user, using the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) to guide practice, and develop and implement occupational therapy intervention focusing on daily living and vocational skills in consultation/conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
You will require strong leadership skills to drive the rehabilitation model within this service, and working closely with ward staff, will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Occupational Therapy service within the hospital. You will take a Corporate lead and prepare reports, and attend Corporate Clinical Governance, when required as well as provide clinical and management supervision to Junior OT's, Occupational Therapy Assistants and Technical Instructors, as well as providing training and advice.
In order to be successful at this role, you will need:
*Registered Occupational Therapist with HCPC (Dip COT, BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy)
*Evidence of working within Occupational Therapy for a minimum of two years.
*Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
*Previous experience of working as an OT in mental health
Is it also desirable to have the following:
*Experience of working within a forensic setting
*Experience of working within an inpatient rehabilitation setting
