Senior Nurse for Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Planning
The successful candidate will:
• Have a First level Registration with the NMC or equivalent
• Be educated to Masters level or equivalent experience
• Have highly developed professional knowledge acquired through post registration masters level qualification or equivalent
• Have senior level professional experience at Band 7 level
• Have history of achievement in areas of quality, practice development, research or policy
The Senior Nurse for Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Planning has lead responsibility for the implementation of the organisation’s strategic approach to nursing & midwifery workforce planning. The post holder will interpret national policy & professional standards & apply these to inform & lead the development of local strategies & policy to ensure a robust & systematic approach to workforce planning provision for nursing and midwifery staff across the NHS Board to support the implementation of the Health and Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Legislation.
The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure integration of education and training needs, governance arrangements and reporting and monitoring processes to ensure that at all times suitably qualified and competent individuals are working in such numbers as are appropriate for the health, wellbeing and safety of patients, and the provision of high-quality health care.
The post holder will work collaboratively work closely with colleagues from National Nursing & Midwifery Workload & Workforce Planning Programme (NMWWPP) and with the Excellence in Care Leads in the NHS Board.
