Senior Mental Health Practitioner

Due to a staff secondment, we have an opportunity for a Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioner who is a qualified RMN or RNLD, OT or Social Worker (with relevant mental health experience or training) to work within the Community CAMHS team in Swindon for 37.5 hours per week for 12 months on a fixed term contract. This post will sit across the Getting More Help and OSCA (Outreach Service for Children and Adolescents) teams in Swindon CAMHS.

The service works with young people up to 18 years old and who experience a range difficulties associated their mental health, you would also work with families and external networks such as schools and Social Care. You would be part of a multidisciplinary team who offer assessment, treatment and consultation either in the clinic base or out in the community.

Our service delivers a Mental Health Liaison Service at the local general hospital which this post would contribute to.

We are looking to recruit a skilled, enthusiastic practitioner who is passionate about working with Children and Young people and who would like develop their skills in delivering evidence based interventions. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside a range of practitioners. Clinical supervision is provided.

The post holder will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and the young people and families that we work with within a range of settings.

The post holder will be required to participate in a flexible working pattern within the multi-disciplinary team to provide cover for a core day 8am-8pm Monday- Friday and 10am-6pm Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

The post holder will be required to contribute to an out of hours on call rota which is supported by Managers, Consultant Psychiatrists and Senior Managers
