Senior Mechanical Engineer - Electro-Mech
My Client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Electro-Mech to design High tech laser equipment for the Aerospace & Defence industry based in the South coast of the UK.
They are a well established company who are expanding rapidly at present, following some major project wins. They have a well equipped, professional R&D facility in Southampton.
Any experience of designing around lasers / Opto electronics would be highly beneficial, but not essential. You must have experience of enclosure design for electronic products though.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Electro-Mech will be to:
-Work closely with optical and electronic engineers on forming new design concepts and taking ownership of mechanical designs throughout the lifecycle of our products
- CAD design of bespoke laser solutions, new platforms and modifications of existing designs
-Prototype assembly and preparation of assembly instructions, working with production engineering
-Design of test and assembly jigs for production
Required skills and experience from the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer- Electro- Mech include:
-Preferably qualified to degree level in Mechanical Design Engineering but will consider HND, C&G (or equivalent)
- High level in CAD software: Solidworks or similar
- Relevant experience in thermal management, EMC and/or precision optical or electronics instruments or industrial product design
