Senior Legal Counsel

Reporting to Parkdean Resorts’ General Counsel, you will be enthusiastic about working in an exciting fast paced business environment, confident about taking on new challenges and will be able to provide high quality, accurate legal advice. We would expect applicants to have a minimum of 4 years’ post qualification experience but would also welcome applications from applicants with more experience. Salary is negotiable depending upon skills and experience.

The successful candidate's core responsibilities will include some or all of the following:

  • Providing advice on corporate and commercial matters
  • Assisting in developing the legal team’s M&A capability and taking a leading role in Parkdean Resorts’ M&A activity
  • Acting as a business partner for key operators/heads of teams on the holiday parks and in our central offices
  • Developing the legal team’s capability to provide proactive legal support to the operational teams on our holiday parks
  • Dealing with corporate projects and legal and governance matters that cut across legal and related areas
  • Identifying and implementing proactive legal solutions that minimise legal risk across the business, including improving understanding of legal issues and advising on process and systems to enable better risk mitigation
  • Developing ways of working to enable the legal team to deliver support more efficiently and effectively
  • Instructing and managing external legal and other advisors

To be considered for this role you should:

  • be a qualified Solicitor with 4 or more years’ experience in at least one of corporate, M&A, private equity or commercial law
  • have excellent communication and inter personal skills at all levels
  • be able to manage and motivate junior members of the team
  • have the ability to grasp complex situations and work collaboratively with non-lawyers to resolve issues
  • be able to think creatively about using legal skills to develop the business and provide innovative solutions
  • have enthusiasm, creativity and flexibility
