Senior IT Support Technician

SF Group are currently working exclusively with one of their clients based in Derby to recruit a Senior IT Support Technician. The position will sit within the Infrastructure department and will be responsible for managing the Support Desk on a day to day basis, prioritising and allocating the tasks and ensuring smooth running of a high volume, busy desk.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain the company's IT based systems
  • Provide 1st/2nd line support
  • Mentor 2 Junior employees when necessary
  • Respond to all support calls within the agreed SLA's
  • Ensure the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) are functioning correctly
  • Maintain, develop and manage the VMware, Citrix/XenApp/Remote Desktop Services environment
  • Ensure the Company's electronic defences are working correctly and are up to date (Anti Virus, Anti Spam, Firewall)
  • Investigate new and improved ways to operate the IT Systems to achieve resilience and efficiencies
  • Providing out of hours support, being on call on a rota basis

  • Windows 2003 and onwards Server Administration including Active Directory Services
