Gloucestershire CCG, working with its partner provider organisations, is seeking to appoint a Senior Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Nurse to work with care home settings. This is an exciting new post which will work closely with the established IPC teams.
We are looking for an experienced registered nurse who has a keen interest and experience in improving infection control practices, dealing with outbreaks and reducing healthcare associated infections. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with Gloucestershire Hospitals Trust Infection Prevention & Control Team and the CCG Integrated Brokerage and Quality Team to provide the leadership and direction to a team of nurses working on all aspects of IPC in Care Homes and instigate appropriate strategies to address risks and measure the impact on the delivery of care.
We are seeking an individual who has experience of IPC, ideally qualified in infection control and the ability to interpret data and apply guidance. Previous experience of delivering education and leadership would be advantageous as this role will also manage a team of IPC nurses working across care settings. This role will be employed via NHS Gloucestershire CCG based in the integrated brokerage team with day to day direction for their work from GHT IPC Associate Director of Nursing.
The role will be initially for a term of 18 months on a fixed term contract basis although we would be happy to consider secondment applications.
Should you wish to discuss this further please contact Deputy Director of Nursing NHS Gloucestershire CCG.
