A fantastic new opportunity for a Senior HR Advisor at our busy Plymouth site has become available in the iconic Ship Building at Derriford Business Park, initially on a short term basis.We are a successful global company with contact centre sites all around the world, supporting our well known clients in delivering first class customer service every day.Our busy Plymouth site has experienced a period of rapid expansion and continues to grow, and we are looking to welcome aboard a generalist to support our team in building a flagship for customer service in Plymouth.

A day in the life of a Senior HR Advisor

You will sit within our dynamic site HR team to provide an expert and effective HR service to the site, contributing toward employee engagement, attendance and retention.

You understand when supporting the wider Plymouth team, the importance of delivering best practice advice and guidance and leading the way. You will support the HR Manager in developing the line skills of our line managers in respect of their people management responsibilities.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

·Supporting the HR Manager in delivering a commercially aware and effective HR service to both internal and external customers, meeting corporate and statutory requirements

·Provide advice and guidance to the site leadership team on best practice in human resources management and compliance with employment legislation, internal security and audit procedures

·Supporting and owning casework specifically around absence management, disciplinary, appeals and grievances; escalating to the HR Manager only where necessary

·Support the HR Manager in ensuring that the company remains fully compliant with changes to employment law and practices, and that these practices are implemented consistently

·Providing day-to-day support and guidance to our HR Advisor

·Contributing to the business planning and process to ensure human resources strategy is aligned to business goals

·Supporting the HR Advisor and HR Administrator functions as necessary

Our requirements are:


·Proven experience delivering a range of HR processes

·a strong sense of integrity, with a positive, proactive and flexible approach, and the ability to work accurately to deadlines, whilst managing a busy workload within a fast paced environment

·Excellent knowledge of current employment legislation

·Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

·Ability to work with and communicate with employees at all levels

·Ability to support and contribute towards change initiatives, with a good understanding of change management


·CIPD Level 5 qualification, or either currently or working towards studying to this level

Salary: £22,000 - £24,000 DOE & qualifications

Contract type: Fixed Term 6 months (with potential for permanency)

Working Hours Monday to Friday 09:00-17:30

Holiday: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays
