Senior HR Advisor/HR Manager (9-12 Month Contract)

Our client is looking for an experienced HR Manager. Reporting into the Managing Director, this broad and varied role offers the exciting opportunity to truly add value to a thriving SME looking and to support its business success with a strong people agenda.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and advising line managers on all aspects of people management
  • Developing an HR vision and values which reflect the business brand and best practice
  • Updating policies and procedures to ensure the company is following best practice and is compliant with employment legislation
  • Supporting the end to end recruitment process including writing job descriptions, advertising roles, dealing with agencies, interviewing, completing company inductions and overseeing probation periods
  • Liaising with payroll
  • Developing the appraisal process, reviewing existing procedures and attending reviews where necessary
  • Maintaining organisation charts
  • Advising on performance management issues, supporting disciplinary and grievance processes where required
  • Talent management and succession planning
  • Responsibility for the pension scheme arrangements and obligations
  • Leadership development
  • Reviewing reward offering and benchmarking where appropriate

Person Specification

  • Proven HR Manager experience, ideally gained within an SME environment
  • CIPD qualified
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
  • The ability to influence at a senior level
  • Proven experience of working with third party agencies
  • Ability to recognise changes in employment law and best practice
  • A commercial and pragmatic approach
