Senior Care Assistant 36¾ hours per week (3 x 12¼ hour shifts)
We are looking for Senior Healthcare Assistants to work within our care home, which is a complex care centre, and to be responsible for provide high quality, evidence-based care to Residents admitted to our home in line with their care plans.
What sets our care home apart from others is our state of the art amenities and our commitment to facilitate control and independence for our residents. Our residents range in age from 20 years old, and have high dependency nursing needs due to spinal and/or brain injury. This includes patients who are dependent on using long term mechanical ventilators and those who have tracheostomy. We pride ourselves on providing a high quality and friendly environment for our residents, as this is their home.
The home has 45 individual bedrooms and Senior Healthcare Assistants are responsible for providing high quality, evidence based and patient focused care and to work effectively as part of the immediate team and the wider multi-disciplinary team. (MDT). This will, at times, involve the postholder in 1:1 care with a resident.
You must have:
- A nursing, paramedic or medical background
- Experience of working with clients who have multiple and complex needs.
- Good written and spoken communication skills
Staff are required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
We provide training, mentorship and supervision for Senior Healthcare Assistants.
The Job includes the following tasks:
To ensure good standards of care for the Resident are maintained at all times, adhering to the Homeâ€™s Core Values at all times.
To ensure clear and accurate written and verbal information is given at all times
To maintain knowledge and competencies in tracheostomy and ventilator care and management, and to refer any concerns regarding a resident to the nurse in charge without delay.
To ensure junior care staff are directed and supported to deliver high quality personal care to residents at all times.
To assist in providing a homely, welcoming and friendly and professional environment where relatives may participate appropriately as partners within the caring team.
The postholder should be able to work both days and nights in rotation at our home at Fairlie House.
Shifts are 12 hours either:
- 7.45am - 8.00pm
- 7.45pm - 8.00am
We pay for the full 12-hour shift, plus 15 mins for handover, and breaks are paid for. We ask staff to work 3 shifts a week (36 ¾ hours per week) but additional shifts are available.

Pay: £9.18 per hour Monday-Friday & 9.68 per hour during the weekend.
