Senior Front End Developer

Our client is one of Scotland's largest digital agencies and are looking for an enthusiastic, talented Front End Web Developer to join their growing team of 30+ developers at their Glasgow headquarters. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects for leading and engaging brands reaching big audiences.

Responsibilities

Within their creative and welcoming team you’ll take responsibility for:

  • Defining, developing and implementing responsive designs in code
  • Collaborating with creative designers to transform concepts into pages with great UX
  • Helping maintain and enhance existing code
  • Following best practice guidelines to deliver quality work
  • Contributing ideas on improving front end development approaches and techniques
  • Working and delivering within cross-discipline teams
  • Developing your skills and sharing your knowledge

Skills

On top of those responsibilities, the following skills and experience are desirable:

  • At least two years’ experience in a front end development role
  • University degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Ability to write clean, standards-compliant HTML
  • A strong grounding in CSS and responsive design techniques
  • Grounding in ES5 or ES6 JavaScript
  • An appreciation for cross-browser and device compatibility
  • Experience integrating with client-side APIs

Bonus Skills

  • CMS integration experience
  • Agile development experience
  • Experience with .Net & Visual Studio
  • Understanding on general SEO concepts (metatags, SEO Schema, AMP)
  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager

Qualifications

You should be familiar with the following technologies:

  • Version control systems like Git
  • Front End build systems like Gulp and Grunt
  • Experience writing modular, well organised JavaScript
  • Modern JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS or React
  • jQuery
  • SASS / LESS pre-processo
