Senior Fixed Asset Accountant

Global US Organisation urgently requires a Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to join their business on a temporary assignment. Duties of the Senior Fixed Asset Accountant include:


 Taking ownership and management of the fixed asset process including the additions, depreciation, updating and retirement of assets

 Perform depreciation flux analysis on a monthly basis

 Assist Line Manager in monthly sub ledger close process including reviewing peers work

 Assist Line Manager in preparation and reviewing FA roll-forward files

 Review journals prepared for intercompany recharges and GL journals for Opex related costs or clearing of accounting retirement balances

 Identify and document process improvements within the Fixed Assets cycles

 Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.

 Assist in project closure processes and capitalization reviews

 Reconcile balances in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger and all accrual/adjustment entries to the general ledger, including intangibles

 Perform Periodic Mass Copy of transactions from Corp Book to Tax Books

 Take ownership of Tax Books, including reviewing reconciliation of differences between Tax Books and Corp Books, and agreeing the Tax Books to the GL Secondary Ledger

 Prepare Schedule III analysis and ensure the integrity of the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.

 Attend to any fixed asset related enquiries from Business Partners

 Assist EMEA operations and country teams in fixed asset identification and categorization

 Calculate asset retirement obligations for those fixed assets to which AROs are applicable.

 Calculate capitalized interest on significant projects in alignment with FASB ASC 360-10-30

 Prepare fixed asset audit schedules and other external disclosure notes and commentary

 Assist in internal and external audit inquiries

 Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management

 Any other ad-hoc FA requests as indicated by line manager



 Extensive experience in GL

 BS or BA degree in Accounting, or similar qualification. CPA/ACA preferred

 Detail-orientated, with excellent analytical and organization skills

 Good communication (verbal and written) skills

 Good interpersonal skills

 Detailed knowledge of Oracle FA and GL

 Strong GAAP knowledge required
