Senior Financial Crime Advisor

Due to growth within our Financial Crime team, we are recruiting a newly created role and are therefore looking for a Senior Financial Crime Advisor to join the team.

As a Senior Financial Crime Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting, influencing and challenging the business units to assist HCUK to optimise systems and processes to prevent financial crime and demonstrate compliance with all requisite rules and regulations in relation to financial crime prevention.

Typical duties will include, but are not limited to:-

  • Interpreting regulatory changes and identifying any gaps with a view to implement change

  • Analysing data and trends, ensuring adequate controls are in place to prevent financial crime

  • Undertaking thematic reviews to understand current process and procedures

  • Managing effective relationships with the management teams

  • Providing standalone advice to stakeholders

  • Composing reports and actions plans to management e.g. process, controls and remediation

  • Analysing data and providing reports to governing bodies

  • Providing oversight of new processes and procedures and ensuring these are meeting business and regulation requirement

To be considered for this interesting opportunity you will possess:-

  • Demonstrable understanding of applying UK financial crime legal and regulatory requirements within an FCA authorised firm incl:-

    • A relevant qualification, such as the ICA fraud or money laundering diploma of equivalent

    • Compliance, especially in relation to FCA, Financial Crime, Terrorism Financing and Anti-Money Laundering

  • Experience of interpreting new and existing regulations and/or business changes and identifying actions the business is required to undertake to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrable experience of preparing and delivering updates/reports for the business.

  • Able to analyse current business practices and identify areas for improvement.

  • Able to influence and constructively respond to stakeholder challenges.

  • Experience in supporting the delivery of projects or change initiatives
