Senior Financial Control Analyst
We have an exciting opportunityfor a qualified accountant to join our Financial Control team, for one of thelargest Building Societies in the UK. Working alongside other accountants inthe team, you will report to the Financial Control Leader, working on statutoryaccounts and preparing monthly management and regulatory information,delivering commercial and analytical information.
The finance function is currentlygoing through an incredible digital transformation and is amid implementing aworld leading financial management tool that will streamline all financialactivities. As a technical subject matter expert, you’ll play a key role in thesuccess of the project.
We’ve adapted really well to homeworking during the current pandemic, so although our Head Office is based inSkipton there would not be a requirement for you to be based here full time andwe are happy to consider any flexible working requests you may have.
What you’ll be doing
As one of 3 senior FinancialAccountants in the team your role will be to support the Financial ControlLeader in the delivery of the monthly accounts, engaging with stakeholdersacross the wider finance team to produce segmental business performance andreport through to the Board. You will have the opportunity to further developyour knowledge of our statutory accounts process, liaising with externalauditors and provide your expertise and opinions to conclude on new accountingrequirement
s. Integrity of the financial statements is key, and your role willbe fundamental in the review, monitoring and implementation of key end to endcontrols across.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who notonly has an accounting background but someone who will thrive at theopportunity to work alongside our Finance transformation team to drive forwardimprovements to our processes, controls and reporting and preferably withleadership experience. You’ll hold a relevant accounting qualification (ACCA /CIMA / ACA) and may have just qualified looking for that next step. Experience ofworking in financial services would be highly advantageous although notessential. Within the role you’ll be working in partnership with variousbusiness areas, building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
