The purpose of this role is to oversee and manage the day to day posting to the ledgers, including posting of banking transactions, ensuring the accuracy of the balance sheet accounts, own the integrity of the financial accounting records and assisting in the preparation of the year-end statutory accounts and the associated external audit.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Be responsible for the accurate presentation of the ledgers on a monthly basis;
*Ensure that allocated monthly balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely and accurate manner;
*Take ownership of the stock accounting process;
*Take overall responsibility for the purchase ledger, sales ledger and banking functions;
*Ensure that inter-company accounts are reconciled and paid across all entities;
*Take responsibility for ensuring the weekly payment run is collated and authorised;
*Maintain and monitor the chart of accounts;
*Ensure that appropriate VAT returns are completed and submitted in a timely and accurate manner;
*Be responsible for the integrity of the fixed asset register;
*Contribute to the financial year-end closure;
*Ensure effective financial controls and procedures are in place;
*Assist in the drafting of the company's statutory accounts;
*Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
Applicants will need to be qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with previous experience within a financial accounting role, including reporting under FRS102 standards.
