About the Team:
The UK Telco market is one of the most competitive markets in Europe. O2 sell their diverse range of products and services to consumers and businesses, through a combination of direct and indirect sales channels.
O2 have introduced industry leading commissions IT capability to manage the commercial payments due to the indirect sales channels. The UK Commissions function is responsible for the accuracy and analysis of complex commission data, accurate payment calculation, reconciliation, financial assurance and reporting of indirect sales channel commission.
Reporting to the Head of UK Commissions this role will accountable for the commercial leadership, operational delivery and financial assurance of O2`s indirect sales channels commission process.
You will be accountable for delivering operational service and process excellence, with a clear focus on developing and delivering a culture of continuous service improvement and a solid stakeholder management experience.
The successful candidate will be based in Leeds with occasional travel within the UK
A key member of the commission function`s senior leadership team, you will provide effective management and positive leadership across the wider commission`s team. You will lead and directly manage a team and be accountable for defining and delivering efficient, effective and assured commission processes and delivering an excellent sales channel partner experience.
You will build successful and collaborative business relationships across a diverse group of senior internal and external stakeholders. You will be required to provide forward looking thought leadership and commercial insight to support the business in growing and improving indirect sales channel partner commercials.
You will be accountable for the development and monitoring of performance across the End to End commission process and for identifying and driving innovation and continuous process improvement. You will need to keep abreast of external changes to drive best practice and continuous improvement.
You`ll be integral in developing and delivering the commissions strategy, giving a clear focus to financial assurance, quality and sales channel partner experience. You will ensure a high level of assurance and service is delivered.
Skills & experience:
Commercially astute, politically sensitive and self-confident with demonstrable experience of leading and influencing the structure of commercial trading agreements to drive commercial and operational simplification and leverage best practice.
Ability to lead, manage and influence strong stakeholder relationships at a senior level in O2 and externally within the sales channel organisations. Strong commercial focus and ability to analyse and articulate complex and detailed subject matter simply and in a thoroughly engaging manner.
Proactive and tenacious approach to problem solving and the ability to make sound and timely decisions based on analysis of the relevant information and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems. Ability to apply commercial and strategic awareness to problem solving.
Experience and knowledge of a large company commission calculation and sales incentive department is desirable and a proven and demonstrable track record of delivery through people and across matrix teams is essential.
Experience of financial and management reporting. Good understanding and experience of implementing quality and process improvement methodologies.
Educated to A level standard essential; University degree desirable and/ or a professional accounting qualification would be desirable. Coupled with relevant commercial and financial experience across a broad range of finance matters in a diverse and fast paced high volume organisation.
