A retail business in Milton Keynes are looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner - IT to join the team. This position is responsible for all financial systems (input, output, data integrity, processes) and corporate reporting to ensure key performance information is delivered to the business. The role will also support the business objectives to ensure financial systems and reporting are fit for purpose. The role interfaces primarily with the Finance, Operations and IT teams.


  • Administration and maintenance of all finance software

  • Data integrity; reconciliation between all financial systems
  • Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, Management reporting - Tools, data flows, outputs
  • Act as main point of contact between Finance and IT; ensuring the finance strategies and IT architecture are aligned
  • Development of systems and performance management tools; implementing upgrades / identify new opportunities in data provision
  • Continual improvement of financial processes and reporting; scope, design and build of new reports
  • Supporting the business's objectives by gathering requirements direct or via the FP&A team
  • Prioritise business requirements into firm actions
  • Delivery of system training to new starters and relevant business stakeholders
  • Regular reporting, including reviews to ensure the business is receiving relevant, timely and accurate information
  • Supporting P&L reviews to ensure an effective and correct period close; supporting the Operations team
  • Responsible for data integrity within all finance systems
  • Detailed knowledge of data flows between all systems / managing system interfaces and uploads
  • Ensuring the most efficient data flows between systems and challenging current ways of working - delivering finance systems change
  • Administer any required changes to systems; Chart of Accounts maintenance, new Cost Centre set up, new KPI measures, reports, new data flows, user permissions, Data Warehouse tables (amendments, creation, investigation)
  • Technical issue resolution (unsupported or through 3rd party liaison)
  • Budget and Forecasting
  • Support of monthly Site forecasting process (Contributor tool), delivering information and relevant communications
  • Site P&L performance
  • Wages spend review (impact of National Living Wage / Government initiatives)

Candidate Profile:

  • Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience (in similar roles)
  • Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills
  • Previous experience of administering and managing financial systems Cognos, Business Objects
  • Strong technical ability
  • Confidence to challenge the norm
  • Excellent communication skills to a wide range of management
  • Business / financial analysis - experience of modelling and analysis with large sets of data
  • Proactive and Self Motivated
