Senior Employee Relations Advisor

To coach more junior staff within the team, and managers to enhance the Employee Relations capability within the organisation.

Responsibilities for the Senior Employee Relations Advisor will include:

  • To provide consistently sound advice and support to managers on all aspects of staff management
  • To keep managers up-to-date on the Trust's Workforce procedures and relevant employment legislation
  • To contribute to the fair and effective operation of the Trust's systems for pay and terms and conditions.
  • To provide advice and support to managers to help ensure the effective, efficient and fair treatment of staff in accordance with employment law
  • To provide new managers (within the area of responsibility) with an introduction to Workforce policies, procedures and practices of the team
  • To provide advice to managers on approaches that facilitate the effective performance and good conduct of staff
  • To support managers in the effective application of the workforce policies, identifying and helping managers to overcome any barriers to achieving Trust targets and to ensure effective recording, monitoring and auditing of information
  • To work with managers and staff side representatives on the planning and implementation of organisational changes
  • To work with managers to encourage and support effective practices of staff communication and involvement
  • To support and cover for other colleagues within the Employee Relations team as required

This is a Part-Time position


The successful Senior Employee Relations Advisor must:

  • Want to work within a Part-Time role
  • Have the ability to develop and maintain communication, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of staff about complex and difficult matters, and in sometimes difficult situations
  • Able to work collaboratively with others in order to achieve team goals
  • have the knowledge and skill to handle the employee relations aspects of major change situations and projects
  • Sound knowledge of current employment law and ability to apply to the working environment
  • Good verbal and numerical reasoning skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and e-mail effectively

Job Offer

looking for a Senior Employee Relations Advisor for a 12 month fixed term contract paying up to £35,000 on a full time equivalent. Part time hours only. Limited parking available on-site. flexible working pattern available. Based in Reading
