LOCATION: Catterick

SALARY: Competitive Depending on Experience

SHIFT/WORKING HOURS: 37-hour week (Mon-Fri)

ROLE SUMMARY:

As their Senior Electronics Design Engineer you will manage projects and bring new products to market.

Reporting to the Head of R&D, you will be a highly motivated individual, capable of taking the lead in developing innovative solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research competitors and be commercially aware of the market.
  • Assist with designing of new and existing products using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Accountability and ownership of numerous projects.
  • Test prototypes for frequent day to day use ensuring they are robust and efficient.
  • Take lead in developing innovative solutions.
  • Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders on project matters and timescales.
  • Chair regular update meetings with the R&D team and Directors as and when necessary.

REQUIRES EXPERIENCE WITH:

  • Analogue and digital circuit design.
  • PCB design and schematic layout experience.
  • Programming PIC microcontrollers.
  • Be a proficient C/C++ programmer with a good understanding and appreciation of assembler.
  • Be a natural leader with drive and charisma.
  • Have the ability to communicate well at all levels.
  • Be proficient in both Windows and Linux.
  • Be comfortable debugging systems with scopes, logic analyzers and other test equipment.
  • Be comfortable reworking SMD technology and building prototype circuitry.
  • Consideration will be given to candidates who can show experience in the following areas:
  • DSP coding
  • Audio circuit design
  • Web technology coding (AJAX and flash)
  • Linux and device driver design
  • VHDL
  • RF module integration and design
