They are now looking to recruit a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work with their site in South Wales.
The Senor Electrical Design Engineer will take technical lead on electrical design. Provide support, guidance and coaching to other Electrical Engineers to develop design skills and work to the department processes and time constraints. This person will also work closely with the Electricians in production.
The successful candidate will be based at the South Wales site but may be required to travel to visit other company’s site or client.
¬ Development of electrical and PLC design for environmental test chambers, working closely with other engineering disciplines;
¬ Drive ‘right first time’ culture in the business to minimize re-work and cost;
¬ Manage projects effectively to ensure that they are delivered on time, on budget and to the customers’ specifications;
¬ Provide design support to other departments, suppliers and customers when necessary;
¬ Ensure the designs and calculations in compliance with relevant standards and regulations;
¬ Support the entire design Team and help make decisions which will influence the company’s product development and lean production;
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing electrical schematic diagrams, chassis design and bill of materials for both single and three phase control systems; an understanding of PLC and PI&D controllers would be desirable. You must prove you are able to work on your own initiative or within a team, work under pressure and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
HND or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering;
ILM of equivalent in Leadership or Management;
A practical training background in electrical equipment design/control system would an advantage;
-Experience in a similar role within with a good knowledge of Autocad Electrical software and experience in a medium / heavy industry;
-Experience in performing calculations in the areas of thermodynamics and heat transfer;
-Project management experience with excellent organisational and leadership skills;
-Full working knowledge of Microsoft office to include day to day experience of excel sheets, excellent report writing skills and document management experience;
-Outstanding communication skills, German language skill is of advantage but not necessary;
