Senior Digital and Internal Communications Officer
Band 6 £26,565 - £35,577 pro rata
Fixed Term for 18 months
This post is being offered for 18 months on a fixed term basis in which the successful applicant will play a key role in managing the implementation, development and maintenance of a new intranet. Working to the Communications Manager, this will include developing, managing and evaluating a range of digital communication channels and platforms including Microsoft SharePoint, Office 365, the Trust’s own microsites, social media channels and video/audio channels. The communications and engagement team operates in a busy working environment, serving a wide range of audiences across North East England that include patients, staff, national and local media, MPs, local authorities and other NHS organisations.
The department is responsible for a variety of internal and external communications including patient, staff and corporate publications, maintaining and updating the Trust website and intranet, handling media calls, supporting our growing social media presence and providing information for our key stakeholders. Applicants should be educated to degree level or equivalent experience; and either a post-graduate qualification or evidence of continuous professional development in internal communications; digital and social communications.
The role requires a digital communications professional with an ability to create excellent and engaging digital content, including video, to ensure all the Trust’s communications are appealing, interactive and produced to the highest standards. As an enthusiastic and highly motivated communications expert, you will be able to manage and prioritise demanding schedules to promote and enhance the overall operation and reputation of the service. You will be dedicated, well organised and creative in your approach in developing new and existing communication channels to meet the needs of our staff, patients and the public.
