An experienced regional contractor, c.£50m turnover, is seeking a Senior Design Manager to join their London Bridge office. This medium-sized main contractor delivers new build, design & build, and refurbishment schemes across London and the South-East, covering sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial, offices, super-prime residential and standard residential. Projects typically range from £2m – £15m in value.

Typical responsibilities:

• Take overall ownership of the design process across multiple projects
• Lead and mentor design managers and coordinators within the team
• Chair high-level design meetings with clients, consultants and key stakeholders
• Ensure robust compliance with building regulations, technical standards and client requirements
• Drive value engineering, buildability and innovation at pre-construction stage
• Provide strategic input on bids, tenders and framework submissions
• Resolve complex design and technical challenges across live sites
