We are now recruiting for an extremely exciting opportunity to join a South Manchester based manufacturer of high-tech special purpose machinery. Our client seek an ambitious and passionate Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing company and drive forward their new product development.
They are looking for a key figure within their design team to be responsible for the design of new products, alternative product configurations, maintenance of existing product design documentation and detailing systems for manufacture.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established manufacturer of cutting-edge automated machinery, and be responsible for driving new product development within the business.
The company required experience in the following:
5-10 years working experience in mechanical design of automated machinery
Experienced in the use of CAD - both 2D & 3D
New concept design
Able to work with others and share ideas / workload
Able to produce good quality manufacturing drawings in accordance with current drawing standards
Motivated to complete tasks quickly and effectively
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously
Awareness of manufacturing techniques, materials properties and costs
Previous experience within highly technical automated machinery
General awareness of sheet metal fabrication
Commercial design awareness
Use of Windows, MS Office and word processing.
Educated to degree/HND/C Apprenticeship level in an appropriate field.
