Job Position: Senior Design Engineer (Hydraulics Systems and Installation)

Job Status: As Senior Design Engineer (Hydraulics Systems and Installation), you will have the opportunity to direct and contribute to the concept, development, and design of complex Articulated Truck hydraulic components, subsystems, or processes while strengthening your analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts. You will partner with and provide technical guidance to global teams. You will contribute to the planning and delivery of projects, continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology, mentor and coach team members, whilst broadening your professional network.

Lead design and development of Vehicle/Mobile Hydraulic Systems and components to meet technical and performance criteria. Ensure system and component reliability, durability, ease of installation through timely liaison with Manufacturing and Quality meeting weight & Cost targets.
Accountable for project delivery, key deliverables utilising Project Management team support for all projects such as; New Product, Cost Reduction, Continuous Improvement, including progress reports, design reviews, timing plans, adhere to key dates, safety, weight and cost metrics.
Producing and maintaining all hydraulic component drawings, Hydraulic Systems and Schematics (CAD - preferably Creo/ProE). Supporting Bill of Material development, cost and weight modelling, assembly instructions and Technical Publications consistent with the Engineering Change.
Use of APQP and key steps such as: FMEA, Validation Planning, Team Feasibility, Integration, PPAP.
Collaboration with diverse global teams, collate, discuss and present data, assist with technical issues, concerns, faults when identified through virtual and physical trial builds, service, validation and production.
Ensure all Hydraulic systems and component designs meet specified targets as identified by a Cross Functional peers.
Guide, mentor and develop a team of engineers, drive enthusiasm, encouragement, and proactive values driven environment.
Essential: Engineering Degree in Hydraulics / Fluid Power Systems, Mechanical, Automotive (or similar)
Significant practical experience in Hydraulic Systems Engineering
Design and development of mobile Hydraulic systems, sub-systems and components (Yellow goods advantageous).
Project management delivery.
Demonstrable experience in vehicle Hydraulic system design and installation.
A history of Hydraulic System and component issue investigation and fault finding resolution.
Aptitude to drive regular Virtual Reviews.
Demonstrated ability to autonomously manage and deliver multiple design projects
Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
Ability to work with suppliers to develop cost effective solutions.
Capability to deliver DFMEA's and DVP&R's to an effective standard.
Strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities (8D).

Desirable: 3D solid modelling and design within Creo or an equivalent design software package.
AE capabilities to define and interrogate system and component analysis.
Application of APQP process.
Manufacturing principles and processes.

Basic Hours: Full Time - 36.50 - flexible start/finish times

Salary: £43,183 - £53,979 depending on experience

Contract: Permanent
