Senior Data Engineer
Working from home with occasional visits to London
£60-70K plus extensive benefits package
To be successful in this role:
You will be an experienced Senior Data Engineer with extensive cloud expertise using one or two of the Azure/AWS technology stacks. You will also have strong knowledge of data pipeline and workflow management tools including Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc. Other requirements for this role include:
- Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, SQL, Scala, Spark-SQL
- Experience in Data Engineering projects and Azure/AWS technology services
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field
- Dig data tools and Data Warehousing experience
- Experience building and optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures and data sets
- Stream-processing systems (Storm), experience
- Comfortable in a working from home environment
Our client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer in their expanding South & Midlands Business Unit. Experience of working in the oil and gas sector and a knowledge of Commodities Trading Business and Wholesale Energy Markets is highly desirable but not essential. These roles are working from home for the time being with a view to moving to a relaxed blended model in the future.
Job role and responsibilities:
