Job Title: Senior Credit Risk Analyst

Location: Cardiff

Our client, an Insurance company based in Cardiff is looking for a Senior Analyst to join their Credit Risk team. The role involves taking the lead on credit risk and pricing analytics, specialising in the monitoring and enhancement of credit acquisition strategies.

As a Senior Analyst you will;

  • Report and monitor the effectiveness of front-end customer decisioning, across a range of channels and products
  • Design, develop and deploy effective and efficient customer decision tools and strategies, producing actionable proposals and implementing changes
  • Monitor the risk/reward profile of the portfolio, analysing and proposing changes to acquisition strategies and customer affordability assessments as appropriate
  • Assess new data sources, tools and techniques to ensure the quality of credit decisioning is maintained in a fast-changing external environment
  • Monitor, maintain and enhance application scorecards and models
  • Provide a wide range of analytical work in order to meet the Credit Risk team’s objectives and support ad-hoc projects

What do you need to apply?

  • At least two years’ analytical experience within a credit risk function is essential
  • Good degree in a numerical subject
  • Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint to produce clear documents and analysis, presenting complex information in an effective manner
  • Experience of extracting, manipulating and analysing data using SAS/SQL (or similar data tools such as R)
  • Experience of working with application decision strategies and customer affordability calculations
  • A broad understanding of the full responsibilities of a credit risk function, from Acquisition through Customer Management to Collections/Recoveries
  • Strong planning/organisation skills with the ability to manage your own workload, prioritise competing workloads, and support wider projects
  • Good written & verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Experience of working with price comparison websites and third-party decision solution providers would be an advantage, but is not essential
