The company is a well-known, national business who are looking for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join their finance function based in Houghton Le Spring.

Description

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supporting the business growth plans
  • Protecting the business against credit risk
  • Assisting with the development and growth of current risk processes
  • Reviewing analysis and MI generated within credit and determine key insights and drive business change to deliver financial gains for and/or improved customer experience
  • Developing insights and ongoing MI to support the evaluation of credit risk key drivers, performance and strategies
  • Designing, developing and writing extensive and highly complex scripts to load, transform, validate and manipulate large data sets
  • Acting as an internal consultant within the company to understand requirements, develop appropriate analysis and/or enduring MI and present key findings
  • Evaluating the performance of credit strategies including credit management campaigns, policy rules, cut offs and scorecards
  • Monitoring the operational drivers of credit risk performance
  • Working with suppliers and colleagues to define requirements, procedure, build, test and implement new credit risk capabilities
  • Designing and developing appropriate data / data mart structures to support credit risk management strategies, pilots and/or MI
  • Supporting and helping develop the infrastructure to productionise MI generated within the team including scheduling, quality assessment, automated distribution

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

Essential:

  • A First or 2.1 Class Degree in Maths/ Statistics or maths based subject (Physics etc)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, ideally gained within Credit, Marketing or Customer Services
  • Be self-motivated
  • Be highly analytical
  • Demonstrable technical programming skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • The ability to communicate complex analytical information to variety of non-technical users

Desirable:

  • Credit risk regulation, governance and compliance
  • Knowledge of credit bureau data and processing Technical programming skills having been ideally developed in SAS including Base SAS and / or SAS EG
