About the Job
The Senior Contracts Manager will play a key role in the planning, implementation and management of the main contracts with suppliers for the delivery of the Census Transformation Programme (CTP). This will involve ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of robust contract management plans. Management and delivery of procurement actions and commercial risk associated with the sourcing of goods/works/services required to deliver the CTP may be required.
The Senior Contracts Manager will assist the Head / Deputy Head of Contracts /Category Management with providing commercial assurance and professional support to the ONS Chief Procurement Officer, Programme Head of Commercial and Programme Executive and Leadership Team, so as to ensure that the contracts and commercial activities are being managed effectively and the risks to ONS are mitigated accordingly. The Senior Contracts Manager will report to the Head/Deputy Head of Contracts/Category Management.
Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and qualification or equivalent experience
- Good IT skills to include not only Microsoft Office products but also procurement/contract management systems
- Experience of successful management of a contract including negotiation and performance management techniques
- Strong influencing skills at a senior level to influence new ways of working
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy working environment and able to multi-task.
- Experience of a range of indirect procurement categories (Recruitment, Professional Services, Marketing etc)
