SENIOR COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER - PERMANENT

I have a great opportunity available for experienced care and support workers, who are caring and dedicated, looking for a permanent role in helping to support people with disabilities in leading a fulfilling life. If you enjoy meeting new people, travel and variety, then this would suit you!

Covering the North East of England, you will be required to:

• provide urgent and emergency support and care to current clients and new referrals
• complete quality checks in client’s homes
• provide training and support to other support staff
• complete initial assessments, risk assessments and care planning for emergency referrals
• attend regular team meetings
• provide telephone support to clients and new referrals
• liaise with external health care professionals
• complete written logs and reports.

Shifts:

- 3 x 12 hour shifts per week
- 1 x 4 hour shift per week
- Rotational shifts, days, waking nights, sleep ins and weekends

Essentials:

• Minimum of an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or relevant experience (or equivalent qualification, or willingness to work towards this qualification).
• Previous experience working with people with disabilities and complex care needs.
• Knowledge of how to deliver person centred care and support.
• Proficient in basic Microsoft Office software such as Word and Excel.
• Flexible and dedicated to ensuring people’s support needs are met.
• People who will enjoy a changeable and fast paced work environment.
• Full, clean UK driving license, business insurance and access to a vehicle that can be used for work related travel.

Desirables:

Tracheostomy care, ventilation, PEG and catheter care, complex moving and handling, mental health first aid and support, positive behaviour management

Salary:

£20k
