Senior Communications Officer

We are currently recruiting for Senior Communications Officer to work at The London Borough of Hounslow within the Chief Executive's team.

The Role
As the Senior Communications Officer at Hounslow Council, You will play an important role;

To support the delivery of first-class communications activity for the council.
To help with the running of communications campaigns and activities that support the authority in delivering its priorities.
To act as an advisor and supporter on communications to the council's officers and elected members.

Location:Hounslow Council

Hours: 36 hours Mon to Fri (08:45:AM - 05:00:PM)

Duration: 3 Months- with chance of extension.

Rate of Pay: £18.43

Who are we looking for?

As the Senior Communications Officer for the Chief Executive's team at The London Borough of Hounslow we are looking for someone who has:

*A sound knowledge of communication theories and practices.
*Highly developed understanding of audience needs.
*A sound understanding of the future direction and vision for the council and local government in general.
*An understanding of local government and its political/corporate environment.
*Solid experience of delivering communications/public relations in a large customer-led organisation.
*A track record of working collaboratively in corporate management within a large multi-disciplined organisation.
*Solid experience of giving professional advice to, and building effective and productive working relationships with people at all levels.
*Solid experience of supporting successful campaigns that deploy the full range of marketing, public relations and public affairs techniques.

*Proven experience of working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and working flexibly in response to changing circumstances.


*Proficient in the use of general office ICT systems, as well as a good knowledge and understanding of publishing (print and web), digital media and social media.
