  • The provision of a range of psychological interventions for service users, and, where appropriate, for carers and families.
  • Carrying out detailed neuropsychological assessments where indicated and help the team with formulation to aid the management of challenging behaviours.
  • Facilitating reflective practice sessions to ward staff

The post holders will be provided with the opportunity to become involved with service development within the division, including delivery of teaching and training, as well as audit and research projects. They would be expected to offer supervision to Assistant Psychologists. The Trust has close links with the University of Birmingham’s Clinical Psychology Doctorate Training and the post holder will have opportunities to provide supervision to Trainee Clinical Psychologists on placement.

The post holders will receive regular clinical and professional supervision. With the Trust offering a wide range of opportunities for CPD and the post holders will have the opportunity to develop special interests and expertise in line with service and team objectives.

Applications are welcome from those with experience of working with older people, who have an understanding of the importance of developing strong multi-disciplinary relationships and collaborative working within an inpatient environment.
