SENIOR CLAIMS HANDLER (Property)

Taunton

Salary: £22,000 to £35,000 (DOE)

If this has caught your attention then you are either a Loss Adjuster looking to leave the very demanding nature of your role and its long hours OR you may have a background in on-site construction in a techincal capacity.  If tihs is YOU then you would be a valuable asset to the property claims insurance industry who would look to you to handle the technical higher value claims.  This is your opportunity to venture away from the cold and uncomfortable conditions of a construction site and use your domestic construction or loss adjusting background and put it to good use in a warm, friendly and comfortable office environment.

The successful candidate will be that key person upon whom unfortunate home owners who have suffered a major loss, will be reliant to manage their insurance claim from beginning to end.  That person is YOU because you love helping people through difficult situations, you are a highly organised and professional individual who can empathise with those in difficult circumstances.  Coupled with your indepth knowledge of domestic construction you will be able to project manage large property insurance repairs resulting from events such as flood, fire and subsidence from cradle to grave.

My client is a major service provider to the UK insurance industry and provides extensive training, together with very competitive salaries, in exchange for which they ask that you act as an Ambassador for the Insurance provider for whom you are also representing.

This is a project management type role with an opportunity to be involved in interesting claims such as large fires, floods, escape of water and other incidents covered by home insurance policies

Qualifications and Experience:

  • On-site domestic construction industry experience with a technical background.

OR

  • Loss Adjusting experience
  • Claims insurance experience - ideal but not essential.
  • Good customer service experience

Core Competencies:

  • Ability to make decisions, plan and see each claim through to the end whilst communicating with multiple parties. Must be inquisitive - understand the situation and solve any problems encountered
  • Great organisational ability with a responsible, honest and positive approach

  • Proven high levels of literacy and numeracy

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Good IT skills with the ability to use multiple systems (Microsoft, bespoke packages)

  • Complaint Handling skills
