The Role

An experienced and accomplished broker and client advocate, handling and placing corporate liability programmes and project specific liability policies for a large multi-national construction and engineering client. The individual will work in a team handling one single client’s insurance requirements worldwide and will need to be able to work in the dual role of advising the client and placing the risks, so a broad knowledge of construction liability is required. It is also important to be able to work alone and be self-motivated, as well as being a good team member.

Although liability is the main scope of the position, good experience of professional indemnity, D&O and E&O issues is also important

The Requirements

  • Conduct Risk: To put the interests of clients and the integrity of the market at the heart of the way you do business
  • Ability to understand one client’s business, situations, opportunities, problems and key issues
  • Ability to manage relationships and negotiate placement with the insurance market
  • Prepare market presentations
  • Work with Account Executives in determining appropriate solutions and structuring and pricing the deal
  • Identify appropriate markets and determine placing strategy
  • Create and grow relationships with underwriters in London and international markets
  • Create and grow relationships with the risk managers of the varied Business Units of the client
  • Experience in pricing and designing conceptual programmes
  • Participate in information gathering exercises with the one client
  • Ensure continuing compliance with Willis Towers Watson guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensure good relationships and communication with other Willis Towers Watson associates in different Business Units
  • Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise where required

Qualifications

  • Preferably ACII qualified or working towards the ACII qualification
  • A proven track record in Insurance Broking or Underwriting is essential
  • A good knowledge of the insurance market in order to address client and technical issues

  • Ability to adapt personal style to work effectively with a range of colleagues and underwriters
  • Must be prepared to work with integrity and openness, complying at all times with FCA requirements.
  • Good IT skills with excellent Excel usage capability
  • Proven track record of delivering high levels of client service
  • Strong practical knowledge of varied types of construction project
  • Experienced knowledge of insurance markets globally in order to deal effectively with client and Willis Towers Watson needs
