Newcross Healthcare are seeking experienced Senior Care Assistants to provide the highest quality of care and support to our service users in Colwyn Bay, Abergele, Conwy, Deganwy,Llandudnoand the surrounding local areas.

What can you expect from your Caring Role?

As a Senior Carer you'll work in a similar way as a Care Assistant (HCA) but with additional responsibilities and the expectation of a deeper knowledge and understanding of the role to support your team. You may also be involved in supervising your team and working alongside a multi-disciplinary team (MDT).

Changing the life of another person is an incredible feeling and it is completely within your grasp. Your responsibilities will include; personal care, helping with social activities, aiding with clinical needs and assisting with any other additional services that will enable our service users to live their daily lives as they choose as independently as possible, in line with their personalised care plan.

Due to the nature of the role, you will need to hold a NVQ3 or equivalent in health and social care, with a medication administration certificate. You'll also need to have team leader skills and experience, should you be required to lead a team of carers within an establishment setting.

Skills & Opportunities

This is a great chance for you to improve your skill set with a range of free training programmes available, all provided by Newcross earned through credits as you work. This could include training in Basic Life Support, BSL or Makaton, Medication Administration, Dementia Care and many more.

To apply for this role, you will need
  • The right to live and work in the UK
  • At least 3 months' previous paid experience working in a care environment in the UK within the last 3 years
  • Referee contact details for your current place of work, including a manager who can comment on your clinical ability, and for all employments in the past 18 months or your 3 most recent jobs
  • A certificate confirming your participation in a practical moving and handling course in the last 12 months or are willing to book on to a Newcross course.
  • You will need access to a smartphone, iPhone (5s or later), iPad or iPod touch compatible with IOS 8.0 (or later) or Android device with a 4.3 operating system (or later), with internet access to submit your time-sheets via our mobile app.
  • Access to your own vehicle is desirable.
