The Role:

Our Client has an opportunity for an experienced diesel calibration engineer to join an established team working on future engine applications and technologies. Calibration of emissions and performance functions to meet targets set by regulatory and internal company requirements on test bed, vehicle and through simulation techniques.

Qualifications: Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Experience:

Essential:

You will have a strong engineering background

You should have experience of diesel or gasoline engine fundamentals & automotive electric/electronics, including experience of Tier 1 supplier engine management systems, interface tools & software documentation.

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be responsible for the calibration of engine control parameters across a range of medium duty off-highway diesel engines in the areas of:

  • Air Path, boosting and EGR
  • On board diagnostics
  • Model based torque structure
  • CAN based integration with other machine control systems.
  • Calibration design and validation using simulation models
  • Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing
  • Calibration design and validation using simulation models
  • Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing
  • Machine integration engine calibration activities, including climatic testing
  • Calibration database management
  • Writing development plans and engineering reports.
  • Supervision of junior engineers & technicians

Basic Hours: 39hrs / week

Salary/Rate: £40,000 - £50,000 - possibly more for highly experienced calibration engineers

Relocation: Negotiable- generally covering all physical relocation costs.
