Senior Buyer

A multi-national company who design network infrastructure solutions are looking for a Senior Buyer to join their team in North Yorkshire.

The Senior Buyer, North Yorkshire, will be responsible for carrying out broad assignments involving the procurement of materials, equipment and services and developing sources of supply where vendors and preferred suppliers are not a possible source, along with working with local plant buyers to ensure that all orders are maintained in the SAP database and that all payment and delivery issues are resolved. Other responsibilities include coordinating with the Design team to identify and negotiate cost reduction opportunities on new and existing products, conducting price and cost analysis for all products, establishing negotiation strategies, analysing commodity trends and competitive pricing and to ensure that all procurements are based on competitive bids.

The Senior Buyer, North Yorkshire, should be degree qualified or have a Professional Purchasing Qualification such as CIPS. 5 years of related buying experience is recommended for this role along with knowledge of product lines and manufacturing processes. MRP experience, preferably SAP, is an advantage.
